Sungmee Kim

I am an applied microeconomist specializing in education, child welfare, and health economics, with a focus on examining how public policies and institutions shape individual well-being, particularly among vulnerable populations.

I currently work as a Researcher at the Korea Water Forum, where I engage in international cooperation and evidence-based policymaking at the intersection of applied economics, water policy, and sustainable development.

I received a Ph.D. in Economics from the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies at Georgia State University in Summer 2023, where I worked as a Graduate Research Assistant for the Metro Atlanta Policy Lab for Education (MAPLE) at Georgia Policy Labs.
